Jane Lloyd
Fine Artist
Paintings inspired by the landscapes, wildlife and stories of Wales.
I’m Jane, an artist living in the mountains above the Mawddach estuary in North Wales. I paint the places, animals and little moments that make me stop and notice the world around me.
My work is about more than simply how place looks. I’m interested in that feeling of being connected to somewhere. Of belonging. Of feeling small beneath a huge sky, but somehow safe and held by it.

HELD BY THE HILLS
Paintings about landscape, belonging and Home.
My current collection is inspired by the mountains and changing light around me here in North Wales.
These paintings grew from a feeling I found difficult to put into words: that a landscape can make you feel both tiny and completely held at the same time.

ART INSPIRED BY A LOVE OF WILD WALES
I live and work in Arthog, surrounded by mountains, woodland, rivers and Mawddach estuary.
Nature has always found its way into my work. Hares, bees, birds, red squirrels and other creatures appear alongside the landscapes that surround me.
I love the tiny details too. You might even spot a little ladybird hiding somewhere in my paintings.

MORE THAN A PAINTING
I want my work to give people a reason to pause.
A moment to breathe.
To notice something beautiful.
Perhaps to remember a place that means something to them.
That’s also why I love sharing creativity with other people, whether that’s through workshops, community projects or simply encouraging someone who thinks they're "not artistic" to have a go.

A LITTLE NOTE FROM ME |
After 14 years teaching art, I left the classroom in 2024 to give my own creative practice more space.
I’m still figuring out exactly where this artist journey is taking me.
But I know I’m happiest when I’m making, noticing, learning and sharing things that make me feel connected to this place I call home.
